Well, it turns out it isn’t because it looks good and there’s a very good reason for it.
Bartender Kaitlyn Stewart took to TikTok to reveal the secret reason for the twisted handle.
She said: “Bar spoons have many uses they’re not just for stirring down cocktails.”
“I’m going to show you one of my favourite uses for the spiral bar spoon,” she added.

She explained that the reason they have a spiralled design is that you can pour carbonated drinks onto it and it will stop them from fizzing over.
The bartender added that it also stops the drink from losing its fizziness as quickly.
