Recently APAAR card has been made mandatory by the government for students. All the academic data of the students will be contained within this 12 digit APAAR card. Although the intention is good but the process of generating this APAAR ID is so complicated that even the school administrators are cringing. At present there is a lot of difficulty in making this card due to discrepancy in name in birth certificate and Aadhaar card of students. When Education Minister Kuber Dindor was asked about this today, he said that efforts are on to resolve the problems faced by parents and students. A discussion is going on with the teachers on how to overcome this problem and a presentation has also been made to the Chief Minister. In the future, the education department will work with the administration to take Apar ID as a campaign.
What is APAAR Card?
'Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry' (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) means Apar card. This card will be slightly different from the Aadhaar card and both will be linked to each other. Through this card, the government is going to make a 12-digit ID card for students. This card will be permanent to the student from childhood till higher studies. Even if a student changes school, his Apar ID card will remain the same. This card will contain all the academic data of the student.
How will APAAR card benefit students?
This cardholder can avail subsidy on student bus travel. Free entry to any government museum. Subsidy waived for amusement parks and hostels. Student will get discount on books and stationery cost. Besides, it will also be useful for the student to pay the examination fee.
However, many people still have misconceptions about Aadhaar card and Apar card. Apar card is only for students and it is sufficient for students studying in any educational institution. While Aadhaar card is proof of Indian citizenship and can be issued by any educated- illiterate person while APAAR card is only for educated persons and those undergoing education.
