The conflict between India and Pakistan has ended for three days. On the night of May 6-7, the encounter with India started on May 10 after the Operation Sindur was launched. The ceasefire was announced on Saturday, May 10, with immediate effect between India and Pakistan. This seems to have been quiet enough to the conflict between the two countries, while on the other hand, it has also increased the hopes of cricket fans. Due to the collision, the IPL 2025, which was postponed for a week, is now likely to resume.
Indo-Pakistan ceasefire
On Saturday, May 9, the BCCI postponed the IPL 2025 season amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The Indian Board then announced the postponement of the tournament for a week. But as Pakistan’s unclean intentions were not reduced, the possibility of the tournament to start soon seemed dim. But after the heavy retaliation by Indian forces on Pakistan, the Pakistani army and the government finally fell to the knee and agreed for a ceasefire on Saturday 10th May.
IPL 2025 Hope to resume
After announcing a ceasefire by the Indian Foreign Ministry on Saturday evening, where people from the two countries have breathed a sigh of relief, Indian cricket fans are hopeful that the tournament may resume. So far 57 matches have been completed this season, while the 58th match had to be stopped. That way, there are a total of 17 matches in the season. In this case, the Indian board will once again prepare its schedule.
Will the tournament start immediately?
But the big question is, will the tournament begin immediately? The answer is- no. In fact, after postponing the tournament, the Indian Board said that they would be in touch with the government and would take any further decision on the basis of its advice. In such a case, it is unlikely to start immediately after the ceasefire. One of the reasons for this is the stressful situation on the border despite the ceasefire. Another reason is to return to foreign players at their home. In such a case, will those players be able to return to India immediately? Also, will he be ready to play right now? These questions are still pending.
The decision will be taken at the BCCI meeting
However, the Indian Board had already made some preparations to resume the tournament. According to a report, the Indian Cricket Control Board has chosen three cities in South India to resume the tournament. Accordingly, preparations are being made to complete the season in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, the remaining 17 matches of the tournament. According to reports, a BCCI meeting will be held shortly in which the tournament will be discussed.
