
Indian team captain Suryakumar Yadav has been involved in a controversy after winning the match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. Following the second defeat against Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged a complaint with the ICC against Suryakumar Yadav. According to the PCB, Suryakumar's statements were damaging the image of cricket.
PCB complains to ICC
ICC's match referee Richie Richardson sent an email to the Indian team and sought clarification. It said that the PCB complained about two different statements during the match presentation and the press conference. Both of these statements have been taken by the match referee and said that Suryakumar's statements are against the image of cricket.

In the claim that Pakistan is claiming the controversial statement, Suryakumar Yadav said that our victory was dedicated to the martyrs of the terrorist attack in Pulwama. Second, he said he was instructed not to join hands with Pakistani players.

Will Suryakumar Yadav be banned?
Now the question arises whether Suryakumar Yadav can be banned? According to the rules of the ICC, this case is Level 1 violation. In such a case, the player is usually fined only match fees. The restriction only applies when the case is Level 2K Level 3.
