
India beat Australia 2-1 in the T20 series despite many questions and criticism. The fifth and final match of the series, played in Brisbane, was abandoned due to rain. Abhishek and Shubham played strong shots
In the final match of the series in Brisbane on Saturday, 8 November, Team India batted first, but the match was called off after just 4.5 overs and then abandoned. Abhishek and Gill scored 52 runs together in the match. Both played some powerful shots. Gill in particular hit powerful boundaries and answered criticism for slow batting in four matches and entertained the fans.

After the match, when Abhishek Sharma and captain Suryakumar Yadav came to the press conference, both were asked questions about the team's opening pair. On one side is Abhishek, who bats aggressively, and on the other is Gill, who bats cautiously. So, when asked if this opening pair is 'fire and ice', Abhishek said, “I think it's just fire and fire. We've been playing together since Under-12, so I have a good rapport with Gill. I know what shots he wants to play and he also knows what shots I can play.”

Competing to match each other's strike rates
Meanwhile, Captain Suryakumar Yadav also mentioned a special rivalry between these two friends. Surya said that there is a competition between them to match each other's strike rate. In the last match it was also seen that both were batting at a fast pace. By the time the match closed, Gill had scored 29 runs from 16 balls at a strike rate of 181. Abhishek scored 23 runs in 13 balls at a strike rate of 177. However, Abhishek's strike rate in the entire series was 161, while Shubman Gill's strike rate was just 136.
