
Sources in Delhi Police termed the blast near Lal Qilla metro station as a terrorist attack. According to reports, several people have died in the blast, while several people have been injured. It is reported that one suspect has been arrested and admitted to LNJP Hospital in critical condition. Currently, both NIA and Special Cell agencies have joined the investigation.
According to information, after preliminary investigation, Delhi Police has clarified that this was not a normal accident, but a planned blast. According to sources, a suspect who was inside the car at the time of the blast has been detained by the police. Forensic teams have recovered explosive material, wiring and pieces of batteries from the scene, further strengthening the suspicion that the blast was carried out manually.
Witnesses said the car caught fire after the explosion, which quickly spread to three other vehicles nearby. Following the incident, the entire area has been sealed off and investigating agencies have started collecting evidence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Home Minister Amit Shah about the incident and got the details of the entire situation.

After the blast, the forensic team immediately reached the spot and started the investigation. Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha while talking to ANI said that at around 6:52 pm, a car moving slowly at a red light stopped with a sudden explosion. The blast also damaged several nearby vehicles. The commissioner said that several people were killed and many injured in the blast.
Commissioner Golcha further said that all investigating agencies including FSL and NIA are present at the spot and are probing every angle. Home Minister Amit Shah is constantly being informed about the situation. Security agencies are investigating whether the blast was part of a terrorist conspiracy or due to some other reason.
After the incident, high alert has been declared across the country, including Delhi, and security agencies have tightened security in key areas of the capital.
