Jaiswal's absence from Team India for the 2026 T20 World Cup surprised many cricket fans. He has consistently performed impressively while playing for Team India in these formats, including the IPL. However, he is currently away from the T20 squad due to heavy competition in the team. However, Jaiswal continues to showcase his batting prowess by taking full advantage of every opportunity.
This century has not come in any international match or practice game. He was recently involved in the ODI series with Team India, but did not get a chance to play. Later, he showcased his batting on former England captain Kevin Pietersen's show.
Challenge given to score 100 runs in 50 balls
Pietersen's YouTube channel 'The Switch' hosts special challenges for cricketers. In this show, Pietersen challenged Jaiswal to score 100 runs in 50 balls. This challenge had two special conditions. The speed of the ball will increase by 1 mph with each ball and if Jaiswal gets out, 5 runs will be deducted from his total score.
Jaiswal batted against the bowling machine in this challenge which was held at England's home ground. The initial ball speed was 51 mph, but Jaiswal continued to hit fours and sixes as the pace increased. He was dismissed twice, deducting a total of 10 runs from his score.. However, despite the increasing pace and presence of fielders, he did not lose heart.
In the end, Jaiswal crossed the 100-run mark in just 47 balls and completed his century with a six. The performance showcased his quick reaction, timing and power hitting abilities.
For now, Jaiswal's focus is on the upcoming IPL season. He will play an important role for Rajasthan Royals there. He wants to once again strengthen his claim to return to Team India by performing brilliantly in the IPL.
