Sanju Samson broke many records during this victory, one of which is truly amazing. Sanju Samson became the batsman who stayed at the crease for the longest time in any T20 World Cup match.
Sanju Samson played an unbeaten innings of 97 runs against West Indies. During this time he spent 108 minutes at the crease, the first time this has happened in a T20 World Cup. This record was previously held by Scotland's George Muncie, who scored an unbeaten 66 against the West Indies while batting for 106 minutes.
After this, Devon Conway has batted for 106 minutes, Pathum Nissanka for 105 minutes and Mohammad Rizwan for 105 minutes. Only Jos Buttler holds the record for scoring a century after batting more than 100 minutes in the T20 World Cup.
Sanju Samson also created many other records. He played the biggest innings for India in the T20 World Cup and broke Virat Kohli's record of 82 not out against Australia in 2016. This innings helped India chase down the biggest target in the T20 World Cup.
