A new approach of ‘Land to Lab’ will be implemented
In this seminar Dr. C. K. Timbadia said that till now we were conducting agricultural research with ‘lab to land’ approach, but now the time has come that for natural agriculture research, we have to implement a new approach of ‘land to lab’ by conducting research on the farmer’s field itself. This approach will give farmers the opportunity to understand agriculture scientifically and their on-farm research will also benefit the wider farming community.
Research will be done only on farmers’ fields
Giving technical information about this new experiment, the research director of the university Dr. K. De Mewada said that a total of 40 farmers will be selected from natural farming, organic farming, semi-natural farming and chemical farming and their field research will be done to record the changes in production and land productivity. By which the scientist can be well aware of the problems arising on the farmer’s field and can solve the problem on the spot.
So Dr. Mewada further added that the services of scientists from the nearest Agricultural Science Centre, State Agricultural University Research Center or trained NGO experts will be availed to supervise and guide the research to be carried out at the farmer’s farm.
