Nowadays, the trend of live painting has started in marriage functions like photography and videography. Live wedding painting and wedding rangoli are also in trend. Which is becoming a new treasure for the guests in the wedding ceremony.
Surat-based artist Sudha Ghevria says that people want something new and this trend has been seen for two-and-a-half years among people who are happy with money. On one side, the couple is moving around and on the other, they are creating a live painting. This painting takes 5 to 7 hours and Sudhaben takes about 20,000 rupees per painting.
The pandit who conducts the marriage, any relatives standing around the fraternal couple and the ceremony taking place in the mandap are all included in the painting. So the whole picture looks live. 5-6 years ago only few people used to do such live painting, but now the craze has started increasing since two-two and a half years. Mehendi functions and birthday parties also have live painting.
10 to 15 minutes live sketches of the guests are made in the Mehndi function to give a new look to the wedding guests.
In this function, scratches are prepared in which the guests get mehendi and wear bangles within 4 hours. However, since the time is short, the number of colors is not enough.
Wedding event management hires artists. Movable rangoli is made which can be lifted from one place and taken to another place in the wedding reception.
Wedding rangoli is mostly done from bride and groom’s fort. Since it is done only in couples, sometimes the mother and father of the bride-bride and Radha-Krishna are also rangolied. Such rangoli is done at the entrance of the marriage or reception hall in a draft-free place 6-7 hours before the event. Since it is done on ply, it can be carried from one place.
Artist Sudha Ghevria says that she learned Rangoli and drawing from watching her brothers as a child. He did a fine arts course. When doing live painting, the wedding guests cannot fail to gasp.
