Indian stock market is witnessing a strong boom. The Sensex rose 159.18 points to touch an all-time high of 74,245.17 in the morning on March 7. Along with this, the Nifty was also seen at a record level of 22,523.65 points with an increase of 49.6 points. On Wednesday too, the Sensex rose 408.86 points to close at 74,085.99 and the Nifty rose 117.75 points to close at a new high of 22,474.05.
Today i.e. March 8 is the festival of Mahashivratri. So many people are confused whether the stock market will be open or closed on Mahashivratri. As per the BSE circular, the stock market will be closed today.
Apart from this, since March 9 is another Saturday and March 10 is a Sunday, the stock market will be closed. All banks and stock markets will open directly on Monday after Thursday’s business. Bank and stock market will be closed for 3 consecutive days.
In the month of March, the stock market will be closed for three days besides Saturday and Sunday. There are three holidays in total in March. In which Friday, March 8 is Mahashivratri, Monday, March 25 is due to Holi/Dhuleti and Friday, March 29 is due to Good Friday.
In the month of March, the stock market will be closed for a total of 13 days including 3 days including Saturday and Sunday holidays. Meanwhile, there will be no trading in equity, derivatives and SLB segments on NSE and BSE indices.
