A District and Sessions Court in Islamabad, Pakistan has ordered former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to appear on April 4. According to Pakistani media, Justice Tahir Abbas heard the bail plea and issued an order to appear in court for both. Khalid Yusuf Chowdhury, the lawyer of the party, was also present in the court. The court ordered the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to produce Imran Khan.
Earlier, a district and sessions court in Islamabad acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in two cases filed against him. Two cases have been registered in Luhi Bhir and Sahala police stations against Imran Khan during the party’s long march in Islamabad. Judicial Magistrate Ayesha Kundi acquitted him in both the cases.
Imran can meet a lawyer
The Islamabad High Court has directed the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to arrange a meeting between Imran Khan and his lawyers until security issues are resolved. According to a media report, Imran Khan’s lawyer said that due to security issues, he was barred from meeting his client. Let us tell you that Imran Khan is facing more than 100 cases since his resignation. Adiala is currently in jail after being found guilty in the Toshakhana, Cipher and illegal marriage cases.
The second case will be heard on April 20
According to media reports, in another case, a local court has issued an order to appear before Imran Khan and his party leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi. In which the officials of Adiala Jail have been directed to present him in court before April 20. The District and Sessions Court has issued an order hearing a petition related to the Parliament attack case. In which Khan and Qureshi have been asked to be present in the court proceedings.
Khan’s lawyer Naeem Panjotha presented his arguments before Judicial Magistrate Murid Abbas in the case. The court also told that the superintendent of Adiala Jail was not obeying any orders. He told the court that the jail authorities should comply with the order and produce Khan before them. Keeping in view the availability of presence through video link, the Magistrate emphasized the primacy of physical presence in e-courts.
