A SCHOOLBOY, 15 was knifed to death ‘after picking up his little sister from primary school’ as cops charge another teen with murder.
Police were called out to Stellman Close in Hackney, East London, at just after 4pm on Tuesday after reports of a stabbing.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, Pharrell Garcia was tragically pronounced dead.
The youngster had struggled on for about 50 metres following the brutal attack, near Benthal primary school, before collapsing.
It is understood he had been collecting his sister from the school, before going on to meet up with a pal.
A 15-year-old boy has since been charged with murder and is due to appear at Stratford Youth Court on Friday, July 26.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed: “A teenager has been charged after a boy was murdered in Hackney
“Police were called at around 4.05pm on Tuesday, July 23 to Stellman Close, E5 to reports of a stabbing.
“Despite the best efforts of emergency services a 15-year-old boy, who has been named as Pharrell Garcia, sadly died.
“A 15-year-old boy – who cannot be named for legal reasons – has been charged with murder.
“He has been remanded and will appear at Stratford Youth Court on Friday, 26 July.”
Heartbroken tributes have poured in since the horror stabbing.
One wrote: “Rest in peace bro. I heard this and broke down. You have left your loved ones not just in tears but filled with questions.
“You always would argue and fight me, make me laugh and walk around with a smile on your face. Can’t really say much other than RIP. Big bro.”
Friends have shared videos of memories with Pharrell under the caption: “LLP. Gonna miss my brother man.”
It was reported Pharrell’s grandmother and uncle were at the scene following the horror.
A witness told the Standard: “They were devastated. I also saw one of the police women with a tear in her eye. There was a lot of grief.”
Another member of the public who saw the tragedy unfold added: “The boy was wounded and had staggered to the end of the close where he collapsed.
“Neighbours ran out with pillows and towels to try to help him. Then the paramedics arrived and worked for hours to save him.”
A third eyewitness, a bus driver at the scene, said: “Some neighbours used a towel to try to stop the blood before the paramedics arrived.
“The medics were amazing they worked for three or four hours. They just wouldn’t give up. They were heroes.”
Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway said Pharrell’s family are “understandably heartbroken”.
He added: “I know the community will be searching for answers today and will be shocked and angry at this tragic loss of life.
“I want them to know that we will do everything in our power to provide those answers and bring those responsible to justice.
“Our investigation continues at pace today with officers conducting house-to-house inquiries, reviewing hours of CCTV, and speaking to witnesses.
“No one should have to lose a child and events this week in London are a sobering reminder of the devastating consequences of knife crime and serious violence.
“It tears families apart and robs our children of their futures.”
