The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced dates for redemption before the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) time from April to September 2025. Under this, investors can redeem this bond before the due date. However, the RBI also said that investors will have to keep in mind the dates for applying for redemption because if there is a public holiday on that day, the date may change. The RBI gave this information on February 21 by announcing a press release.
Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBS) is a government bond announced by the Government of India, which investors can keep in gold as a digital form investment. The bond is dinemated according to the gram of gold and investing in it also gives annual interest. The RBI has clarified that Sovereign Gold Bond can be stopped for redemption only after 5 years. Therefore, only investors who want to cash their SGB after 5 years are completed can apply for it. The date for the application for different range of bonds coming between April and September 2025 is different. Apart from this, the RBI has also said that the dates of the application will have to be followed properly as changes in the date are possible due to the holidays.
