
Various India airlines have ordered a total of 1359 new planes together in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, 999 aircraft were ordered. In 2024, 360 new orders were given. Currently, out of the 813 planes in the country, 680 planes are operating, while 133 are grounded.
Responding to the question of Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani, Civil Aviation Minister Muralidhar Mohole said that 105 planes are 15 years old, with 43 aircraft from Air India Ltd and 37 Air India Express Ltd.
Special orders
IndiGo has given the highest order in Indian airlines. In 2023, Indigo ordered 500A 320 NEO Family Aircraft. In 2024, orders were also ordered for 30 aircraft in the A350 series and 70 aircraft. Air India has ordered 235 aircraft in 2023, including the A320 Family, B777-9, B787-9 and A350 series.
Currently, Akasa Air 2023 has ordered a mosquito of 150 new Boeing B737-8/-8200 in the recently launched Air 2023.

A plane's guide
The Minister of Civil Aviation said that there is no specific life for planes in India, no time recognition. These aircraft are performed in accordance with the prescribed schedule of the maintenance and monitoring manufacturer. However, in the case of 'permanently withdrawn use' planes, they are not considered efficient for aviation.
