Veteran wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who is trying his luck in the political arena, is in the news these days. Women could not win a medal in the 50 kg category at the Paris Olympics 2024 because they were only 100 grams overweight. After this he announced his retirement. Now he is in the election race. Amidst all this Vinesh Phogat's cousin Babita Phogat has made a big allegation. Babita has accused Vinesh of not mentioning uncle Mahavir Phogat's name in his 'thank you' note after he was disqualified from the Paris Olympics.
Babita Phogat accused Vinesh
Vinesh Phogat retired after being disqualified from the Paris Olympics and in his 'thank you' note, he thanked the coach, physio and other support staff. But in the meantime, he did not write the name of his previous coach Mahavir Phogat. Babita Phogat recently accused Vinesh Phogat while talking to Sushant Sinha on Top Angle. Babita also revealed that her father cried a lot after Vinesh Phogat was declared ineligible.
Vinesh did not thank Babita's father
Babita Phogat said, 'I have seen my father cry only three times in my life. First time, when my sisters and I got married. The second time was when my uncle died and the third time was when Vinesh was disqualified from the Olympics. When my uncle died, Vinesh and both his siblings suddenly quit wrestling. My father went to his house and demanded to fight with his mother to return to wrestling. Imagine how hard he must have worked to make Vinesh. But he thanked everyone except his guru.
Mahavir Phogat's big role in Vinesh's success
Vinesh Phogat was born in Balali village of Haryana. Vinesh Phogat's father died when he was only nine years old. His father Rajpal Singh Phogat died of cancer. After this, Vinesh's dreams were fulfilled by his father's elder brother Mahavir Singh Phogat, who also trained his daughters Geeta, Babita and Sangita to become wrestlers.
