Have food, water, torches ready, more than 6 countries around the world have prepared their citizens to meet emergency situations – know why?

In many countries of the world, in the last few days, their citizens have been advised to be alert and prepare things that are necessary and useful in times of emergency. In which people’s lives are being affected from Britain to America. Long lines are seen at grocery stores in cities across Britain. A very clear reason is being given behind this kind of warning. Concerns over AI cyberattacks in Britain have deepened. So earthquake forecasting is going on in Japan. Meanwhile, America is talking about preparing for a major conflict situation. Apart from this, warnings have also been issued in Norway and Germany. An advisory has been issued to prepare for emergency situations in 6 countries.

“Don’t wait for an emergency, be prepared now,” the government of France’s Normandy region said on a social media account Tuesday. While the UK PM said during an interview on BBC radio, “I love beans, so I keep a lot of beans and soups in my cupboard. I think people should keep anything like that ready.”

Japan, Mexico and the Netherlands have also given an advisory to keep an emergency kit ready for 72 hours. Several other countries, including Sweden and Norway, have asked to store rations and supplies for a week and Germany for 10 days.

Japan and Britain told their citizens to be prepared for emergency situations, keeping 3 to 4 days worth of essentials in their homes. Which includes food, water, essential medicines, toilet paper, power bank, battery, torch, some cash money. Japan has asked its citizens to prepare food, water and other items for 5 days. The advisory comes at a time when the governments of both countries are gearing up to ensure that people are better prepared for sudden emergencies like natural disasters, large-scale catastrophic events like cyber attacks.

Japan

A new disaster management agency is set to open in Japan on November 2nd. Japan’s disaster management minister, Goshi Hosono, said that once the agency was established, the government would make an urgent appeal to various ministries, prefectures and citizens: “Please make sure you have at least one week’s supply of food, sanitation (toilet) facilities, water and other essentials. Even if no outside help reaches you.”

Japan is preparing for national-scale disasters. These include an earthquake in the Nankai Trough, a large earthquake below the capital, a large earthquake near the Kuril and Japan Trench, and a volcanic eruption at Mount Fuji. Disaster Management Minister Mantra Hosono said the Disaster Management Agency will focus on such disasters at the national level as they require a different level of preparedness.

Britain

‘Be Ready’ campaign is being run in Britain. Under which families have been told to carry water, packed food, some cash, a torch and a radio for three days, some services have been disrupted due to a major bug in the PHP software. And there have been millions of hacking attempts.

Then Britain repeated this message. The government has also emphasized risks related to forest fires, inclement weather, cyber attacks, hostile countries and organized crime. This UK advice is consistent with guidance provided by the European Commission. Its aim is to ensure that, even if emergency services or government assistance are not available, families are able to take care of themselves for at least a few days.

America

The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) wants its military bases on US soil to be able to operate for at least 90 days without any external supplies, which means they must have their own electricity, water, fuel and communications systems. This initiative has been named ‘FORTRESS’. Lightning is the greatest strength in modern warfare, a spokesman said.

Germany

A questionnaire about military service is being sent to every 18-year-old in Germany. Anyone who ignores it can be fined up to 250 euros. Penalties have also started. It is being seen as an emergency preparedness.

5 countries. 6 warnings. 1 week..

Japan — on November 2, the day its new Disaster Management Agency opens, the government asks ALL citizens to store food, water and toilet supplies for at least 3 days.. a full week if they can.. the reason is big earthquakes..

UK — the new “Be Ready” campaign tells families to keep 3 days of water, canned food, cash and a radio.. the radios are now SOLD OUT..

US — the Pentagon wants its bases on US soil to run at least 90 days with no outside supply.. their own power, water, fuel and comms.. the plan is called FORTRESS.. its spokesperson says “Power is combat now”..

UK again — the head of the British Army, General Sir Roly Walker, stood in front of his soldiers at Catterick and told them “our nation is going to need you”..

Germany — every 18-year-old man gets a military service questionnaire.. skip it and the fine is up to €250.. the first fines have started..

Norway — a government press release, titled in plain words.. “3 things you must do to prepare for crisis and war”.. and this is its Self-Preparedness Week..

and here’s the part that should worry you..

one by one, each of these looks like normal news.. put them in one list and it feels very different..

all of it while the US and Iran are still on edge..

and the one that asks a whole country to stock up hasn’t even started yet..

Follow me.. on November 2, open it again and see if the list got longer..

Norway

Here the government has issued a statement that “we have to do these three things to be prepared for crisis and war”. Also Self Preparedness campaign is being run. The government has said that all citizens need to be prepared for difficult situations.
Keep your food water and necessary items ready
However, in some countries the timeline is not fixed in the advisory. For example, India has the National Disaster Management Authority, which advises people to keep a kit ready in case of emergency. But for how many days, no deadline is clear. In some cases this advice is for a general emergency situation, while in other cases it is linked to a specific risk.

In the US, an advisory on the Department of Homeland Security’s website ‘Ready.gov’ states that ‘being prepared’ means having enough food, water and other essentials to last you several days. Similarly, Canada also advises to keep an ’emergency kit’ (disaster time kit) ready, which can help you for up to 72 hours.

Europe tightens its waist

Some countries have issued advisories tailored to their specific regions. For example, Western Australia advises people living in cyclone-prone areas to prepare an ’emergency kit’ containing food, water and medicine. Similarly, households in the South African city of Cape Town have been advised to stock up on essentials to last at least three days.
