Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat in the tri-series match played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Batting first, Pakistan could score only 110 runs in 25.3 overs. Babar Azam was the highest scorer for Pakistan with 29 runs. No other batsman could survive at the crease.

Fakhar Zaman could score only 5, Maz Sadkat 8, Saad Baig 5 and Salman Aga 9. Shadab Khan, the centurion of the previous match, got out after scoring 2 runs. As a result, Pakistan were bowled out in just 153 balls. In reply, Sri Lanka displayed excellent batting and overcame the small score. Sri Lanka achieved the target in 18.1 overs with the loss of 2 wickets.

5 wickets from Dilshan Madhushanka
Sri Lankan left-arm fast bowler Dilshan Madhushanka demolished the Pakistani batting unit. Madhushanka took 5 wickets for 34 runs in 8.3 overs. Sahan Arachige took 2 wickets. Asita Fernando, Ehsan Malinga and Dunith Velalege took 1 wicket each. Then Kamindu Mendis scored a brilliant half-century in the batting. The left-handed batsman scored an unbeaten 62 off 60 balls. Pawan Ratnaik contributed an unbeaten 23 runs.
The Sri Lankan team reached the final
With this win, Sri Lanka qualified for the final of the tri-series, while England crashed out of the tri-series. Sri Lanka won two out of three matches, while England did not win a single match. The final match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan has now become official. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will meet again in the final on Saturday. This title match will also be played in Lahore.

Pakistan’s poor record against Sri Lanka in Lahore
It is worth noting that three of Pakistan’s four lowest ODI scores have come against Sri Lanka on this very ground. This is the first time since 2009 that Pakistan have been defeated by such a low score against Sri Lanka. It will be interesting to see how they fare in the title fight.
