On November 9, 2024 Key Factors Bridging Conference on High-Quality Development in the G60 Science & Technology (S&T) Innovation Valley of the Yangtze River Delta will be held at the 7th China International Import Expo at the National Exhibition and Convention Center.
Nine cities within the G60 S&T Innovation Valley will join forces at the conference, guided by the strategic aim to “base in the Yangtze River Delta, extend nationwide, and look globally.” Driven by comprehensive reforms, they are working together to foster the high-quality integration of the G60 Valley. This collaboration promotes cross-regional synergy and deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, accelerating development of an internationally influential innovation valley and a major center of innovation in China.
At the conference, the “Several Measures to Promote the Free Flow and Efficient Allocation of Resources in the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of the Yangtze River Delta” will be released, marking a new step forward in institutional innovation. Several new platforms for cooperation will be also launched, including the Yangtze River Delta G60 S&T Innovation Valley ESG Development Alliance. International platforms will be established as well, such as the G60 Collaboration Base for the BRICS Technology Transfer Center. Additionally, centers will be designated as official visit bases for the China-Arab G60 Cooperation and Development Promotion Center, and a number of major cooperation projects will be signed.
Shanghai’s Songjiang District is the birthplace of the G60 S&T Innovation Valley. Since its launch on May 24, 2016, the G60 Valley has progressed through three key phases: Version 1.0, “Originating in Songjiang,” Version 2.0, “Connecting Jiaxing and Hangzhou,” and Version 3.0, “Joint Construction by Nine Cities.” This project has been integrated into landmark plans such as the “Outline of the Development Plan for the Integration of Yangtze River Delta Region” and China’s “14th Five-Year Plan.” In a significant move, six national agencies—including the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology—jointly issued the “Construction Plan for the G60 S&T Innovation Valley.” This initiative has opened new pathways for coordinated regional development, establishing G60 Valley as a vital model for high-quality integration in the Yangtze River Delta.
