According to ITR Deadline Live Updates, the income tax return (ITR) filing process for Assessment Year 2025-26 is underway. The deadline is September 15. So far more than 60 million returns have been filed, the Income Tax Department has informed.

In 2024, 7.6 crore returns were filed till July 31, while around 6 million returns have been filed till September 13 this year. As many as 7 million ITRs have been filed by 5:15 pm on September 15. Many people are still rushing to file returns as time is left.
