DGCA officials said the Boeing B737 Max aircraft with registration number VT-SZK flew from Mangalore to Dubai. He said that after the plane landed, an engineer inspected the aircraft and found that the nose wheel was more compressed than usual. Officials said the engineer then decided to land the flight.
The DGCA had issued a ‘cause viewer notice’
Incidents of technical defects in Indigo and Vistara aircraft were also reported last week after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the aviation regulator, issued a “cause-and-effect notice” to SpiceJet. DGCA officials said that one of the engines of the area plane from Bangkok failed after it landed at Delhi Airport on July 5. However all the passengers got off the plane safely. Vistara told the airline about the whole incident that a minor defect had occurred in the integrated drive generator in the engine after landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Binoy Vishwam wrote a letter to Scindia
At the same time, on these incidents, Communist Party of India MP Binoy Vishwam wrote a letter to Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on July 8, expressing concern over the poor and dire security situation of flight companies. Vishwam urged the minister to conduct a comprehensive review of flight companies across the country and ensure the safety of passengers. He said the letter was written about the bad and serious security conditions under which the country’s airlines are currently operating. The MP said there have been several incidents and emergency landings of planes in the last few months.
