IPL 2023 The first qualifier was played at Chepauk Stadium. Chennai has secured a direct entry to the final by winning against Gujarat. After losing the toss, Chennai Super Kings batted first and set a target of 173 runs for the loss of 7 wickets against Gujarat Titans. Rituraj Gaikwad scored a half-century as Chennai mounted a challenging score. In response, Gujarat’s batting innings struggled from the start. Shubman Gill fought back but he too fell short of his half-century. The batting line of Gujarat Titans was a complete flop and the direct entry was missed in the final.
Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to field first. Thus, after losing the toss, Chennai came to bat first in their home ground. The losing team will now go to Ahmedabad to play Qualifier-2. The Gujarat team will face the winner of the eliminator match between Lucknow and Mumbai at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Miserable game of Gujarat
Today was a difficult day for Gujarat Titans. He also faced some difficulties in bowling. While the batting innings also did not get off to a good start. Shubman Gill fell short of a half-century as the opening pair broke up quickly. The wickets of Saha and Hardik Pandya were lost in the power play itself. Gujarat lost the first wicket only on the score of 22 runs. Wriddhiman Saha was dismissed for 12 runs off 11 balls. Then Hardik Pandya returned after facing 7 balls scoring 8 runs. The third wicket of Dashun Shanaka was lost on the team’s score of 72 runs. Shanaka scored 17 runs off 16 balls. David Miller returned with 4 runs.
Shubman Gill scored the most runs. The in-form young opener Gill scored 42 runs off 38 balls. Gill hit 1 six and 4 fours. Gill tried to fight alone. But Deepak Chahar made him his victim. Rahul Tewatia was bowled after scoring 3 runs. Vijay Shankar and Rashid Khan brought excitement to the end of the match. But Vijay Shankar scored 14 runs and was caught out in the circle of big shots. From here Pasu again turned towards Chennai. Rashid Khan scored 30 runs in 16 balls. He hit 2 sixes and 3 fours. Darshan Nalkand returned after being run out for zero.
